"Armor" in Planetside 2 is like the Name suggests, protection for the players who play in the factions fighting for dominance on Auraxis.. Vehicles have armor, too - but armor itself is mainly a concern for the different classes the players will have to choose for their game. There are light armors that the Medic, the Infiltrator, the Engineer and the Light Assault soldiers wear - and heavier.

This was an ascetics choice by the original dev team. The idea was to use armor shape to help with IFF of targets: a boxy square shape for NC, more rounded for TR, and more pointy for VS. I know we like to throw shade at them a lot, but there was a method to some of their madness. 34. LorrMaster.

Rocklet Rifle: Rain justice from above with the Rocklet Rifle, a new Light Assault tool automatically in your tertiary spot. It's essentially a mini rocket launcher, but hey - a rocket launcher's still a rocket.

These are the Drakon armor sets, they are already availabe and are 100 smedbucks less then the composite versions. This is made all the more painful knowing that this and this were concept art for planetside 2's original armor, but they decided to go with the cartoony look. I get that the devs wanted to make something that looked.
